Scott is a true Smith success story. Starting in operations in 1993, he climbed the ladder decade after decade and made a name for himself with his go-getter attitude and problem-solving skills. Scott is currently a Senior Account Manager who supports our global customer base.

What brought you to Smith?

Smith ran an ad in the local newspaper looking for warehouse help. I had moved from Houston to Atlanta for work and school, then moved back to Houston – it was an “I have to go see about a girl” moment. I was working for a local HVAC warehouse at the time, so I had some experience. The call from Smith changed my life completely.

What do you love most about your job?

The people, from customers to coworkers.

What has been your most rewarding experience at Smith, so far?

The most rewarding…that’s pretty tough because I’ve had some great ones so far. I worked in shipping and receiving, broker sales and excess purchasing, and then managed broker and excess sales with some of the future leaders at Smith. I’ve worked under one of the best, if not the best, broker salesmen for OEM/service customers. Not sure if I could pick just one.

What tech advancement has changed your life?

The mobile phone or mobility in general. From live streaming to camera resolution, I believe it to be one of the largest advances so far. Everyone wants to work on the go.

In what ways has Smith challenged you?

Keeping up with trends and technology in the ever-changing markets. I look forward to the challenge for many more years to come.
