Smith Relocates its Hong Kong Regional Hub to New Facilities

Smith expands to new sales and operational facilities in Hong Kong to more fully support this key region

Houston, TX (August 21, 2016) – Smith, a global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces the relocation of its Hong Kong hub office to new, dedicated locations for trading and operations. These new facilities will provide resources for expanded customer support and service options in the thriving Hong Kong region.

Smith opened its Hong Kong office in 1997 in order to offer more comprehensive, immediate, and localized service to Smith’s growing customer base in Asia. Since then, Smith’s Hong Kong office – the company’s regional hub for all Asia – has provided a central base of operations to conduct business and deliver operational and logistical support. Now, Smith has expanded its space as the company grows and plans for even further growth in this region.

The company has moved its trading facilities into a new office in Hong Kong’s Times Square, an office tower and major shopping center located in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. This bustling location will offer a dynamic place to do business as the company works to build its customer relationships even further and establish new partnerships.

The key element of this location change is the expansion of Smith’s Hong Kong warehouse in its new space. At 15,000 square feet (1393.54 square meters), the new location has more than doubled Smith Hong Kong’s operational facilities. With dedicated space to devote to anti-counterfeit and functional testing, shipping, and various inventory management and logistics programs, Smith’s Hong Kong operations are poised to explore and deliver bolder customer support options. The neighborhood these facilities are located in also offers benefits, with local rezoning and refocusing on business renewing the Kowloon Bay area since 2001.
