Daniel has been an asset to our operations team since 2011, when he started off as an import/export coordinator before moving up to the role of operations lead. His dedication and quick thinking have earned him his most recent promotion to manager.

What do you do at Smith?

I am the Support Services Manager in our operations department, which means I oversee shipping requests for customers from all around the world. There are a lot of moving parts in this position, and we work closely with our logistics team to make sure we’re compliant with global shipping regulations.

What tech advancement has changed your life?

The internet has changed my life the most, by far. I grew up without the internet, and saw it take over the world seemingly overnight. I love being on the computer, surfing the web, and playing games. It is a huge part of my life.

What has surprised you most about working with electronic components?

The plethora of components that I was never aware of was surprising, as were the different testing capabilities that can be used. There’s so much that goes into technology that people aren’t even aware of, and yet we work with these parts on a daily basis.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about working for Smith?

There is a lot to learn, and it’s a wonderful company to work for. Every day I arrive at work, there is a new challenge to tackle. Smith is also a big family; many of us have worked together side-by-side for years, and the camaraderie among us can’t be beat.

In what ways has Smith challenged you?

It has challenged me to give 150% every day. I work above and beyond to stay ahead and be proactive so that, when problems do arise, we can solve them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Every morning I walk in the doors, I give it my all.
