Charli started off at Smith as our HR Assistant, but was recently promoted due to her take-charge attitude. She is now overseeing a major initiative that will impact all of Smith’s offices around the world.

What do you do at Smith?

I’m the HR Coordinator. My biggest responsibilities include handling employee development, such as performance reviews and training, and helping out with payroll and any big special projects.

What does it take to succeed at Smith?

You definitely have to be driven, no matter what department you’re in. Shortly after I started here, I began asking for more responsibility and immersing myself in everything I possibly could. It definitely paid off.

What do you look forward to every day at work?

I’m definitely being challenged every single day, and I love that! I’m currently working on a new project that spans across all of Smith’s offices. It’s super challenging because there is a lot of trial and error on my part – but that is part of the fun.

What is the best thing about living in Houston?

My favorite part about Houston is that there’s always something going on. We have museums, parks, tons of restaurants, and a festival almost every weekend. I love having the option of having an exciting weekend exploring Houston or having a chill weekend hanging out at the park with my dogs and fiancé.
