Smith is proud to introduce its team of IDEA-ICE-3000 certified quality engineers and inspectors:
Through extensive training, experience and industry knowledge, our inspectors and quality engineers safeguard our customers against counterfeit components. The excellence of our team of inspectors and quality engineering professionals has been validated by the IDEA, the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association. We proudly staff over thirty specialists who have demonstrated their ability to ensure high quality products by achieving IDEA-ICE-3000 Certification.
Why Smith believes in IDEA-ICE-3000
At Smith, we believe in ongoing training and development. We adopted the IDEA-ICE-3000 certification program as a part of our SmithSecure Framework because it sets an industry standard and provides a third party measure of our working knowledge of electronic component processes.
Certification Requirements
In order to gain certification, inspectors and engineers must pass the IDEA certification exam, have a minimum of two years inspection experience and knowledge of many industry standards, including IDEA-STD-1010-A. All of our quality specialists are recertified every two years.
Exam Topics Included
Quality team members are tested on general industry knowledge, electronic discharge (ESD) safety, ergonomics/lighting, humidity and temperature control, cleanliness, inspection tools, inspection criteria and recognition of non-conforming conditions.
