December 15, 2000 Smith & Associates Announces Trading Promotions Houston - Smith & Associates - the leading Independent Distributor of semiconductors, electronic components, and computer products - announces the promotions of Cindy Meneley to Training Manager and Jennifer Kabbara to Trading Floor Manager.

In her new position as Training Manager, Cindy Meneley will be responsible for the training of all new Purchasing Agents. Ms. Meneley began her career at Smith as a Purchasing Agent in September 1999. "I am excited to begin my role as Training Manager," explains Meneley. "Smith's rapid growth creates an exciting and challenging environment. Our worldwide expansion has created many opportunities and I feel fortunate to manage such a vital part of Smith's future success." Jennifer Kabbara started her Smith career in July of 1994 as a sales representative and advanced to Training Manager in January 1999.

Mrs. Kabarra's new role as Trading Floor Manager will encompass the training of all new Sales Representative as well as the advanced training for Senior Traders and Managers. "Since I joined Smith in 1994 the company has grown tremendously," states Kabbara. "This growth is made possible by Smith's ability to change with the market.
