Survival of the fittest: Samsung & Micron lead DRAM

Gartner's new market share data for DRAM are out now.  Fabtech has a nice piece on the ever shifting sands that's worth your quick read.

However, there's going to be more change to come now that the Taiwanese 'DRAM bail out' plans are being slowly unveiled.  With Elpida and Rexchip the apparant winners.  Questions and deals are still whirling around PSC and especially ProMOS, whose shares are dropping amid worries. 

Of course, Qimonda's future is also a bit in the winds now.   In a couple week's time we should have a better sense for how the DRAM industry will look heading into what promises to be an interesting 2Q09.  Stay tuned!
