The competition among automotive OEMs will lead to increased efforts to lure customers by means of additional infotainment features and options. The semiconductor industry will be beneficiary from this trend, predicts market researcher iSuppli. The top winners are NXP and STM.
Global combined OEM and aftermarket revenue for automotive infotainment systems is expected to rise to $39.8 billion in 2008, up 7.9 percent from $36.98 billion in 2007. Until 2014, the market researchers expect the market volume to grow to about $50 billion
